Our Team

David S. McBride

As owner and CEO of McBride & Associates, Dave has over 40 years’ experience in managing associations and non-profit organizations. He founded McBride & Associates, Inc. in 1983 and since that time has served as the chief staff executive for more than a dozen non-profit organizations. He served as Public Relations Director for the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce following graduation from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a journalism degree. He became Director of Communication and Education for the Nebraska Bankers Association and formed McBride & Associates in July of 1983. Dave has helped lead more than two dozen associations and non-profit organizations to enhancements in governance, increased engagement of volunteers, expansion of membership value, and development of financial resources. He has managed legislative/advocacy/government relations activities of several clients and serves as a registered lobbyist at the Nebraska Legislature. He is a past chairman of the Association Executives Advisory Council for a national trade association; has served as a lecturer, panelist and presenter on association management topics at association management conferences; has served on multiple national committees for client organizations; and is a national award recipient for excellence in association management.

Dave has been involved in many community activities and is the recipient of various awards and recognition for service and achievement. In 2016, Dave received the Optometric Executive of the Year Award from the North Central States Optometric Council. In 2013, he received the Vision Service Award from the Heart of America Contact Lens Society. In 2006, he received the top honor from the NAIFA National Board of Trustees for excellence in association management, as well as being honored by the NOA and NAIFA-NE Boards of Directors for exemplary service to the associations. He has also been cited by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), and is an honored member of Who’s Who in U.S. Executives.

Dave is a member of ASAE, the Nebraska Society of Association Executives (NSAE), Leadership Lincoln Alumni Association and International Association of Optometric Executives, in addition to serving on the Pinnacle Bank Arena Advisory Board.

Janet Seelhoff, CAE
Janet joined McBride & Associates in 2010 and has more than 20 years of experience in association management, including serving as the Heartland District Field Associate for APICS (The Association for Operations Management) and serving as senior manager, chapter services for the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA). Janet has held the prestigious Certified Association Executive designation since June 2006 through the American Society for Association Executives (ASAE). She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism/Mass Communications from Kansas State University and a Master of Science in Management degree from Baker University. Since joining M&A, she serves as Executive Director of three statewide trade/professional associations, providing initiative and direction for development of strategic business plans, leadership development, membership growth, government relations/advocacy expansion, meeting and event planning, continuing education opportunities for members, website development and management, producing and disseminating communications including newsletters and e-blasts, and building relationships with allied organizations. She is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and serves on the Small Staff Association Committee, the Nebraska Society of Association Executives (NSAE) and assists with NSAE’s Certified Association Executive Study Group, and serves as Secretary and Grant Writer for the Millard Business Community Foundation.
Jamie Oborny
Jamie Oborny joined McBride & Associates in 2005 and serves as the Meetings & Events Manager. Her responsibilities center around directing and managing the production of client conferences, educational meetings, and special events. She works with facilities, suppliers, speakers and volunteers as well as the promotion and marketing of these events. Jamie serves as the onsite coordinator and is the primary contact with hotels or other meeting venues. During her time with M&A, she has worked with clients in a variety of administrative capacities including membership database management, website management, membership services, and graphics design/production.
Lavon McBride
Lavon McBride is the Chief Financial Officer and Office Manager of McBride & Associates. She joined the staff in 1990. Lavon has been instrumental in administration of the Political Action Committees for several of M&A's clients. She graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Prior to joining M&A, Lavon was employed at a local financial institution as Manager of the Corporate Trust Department. Lavon is responsible for the financial administration for all the clients. Lavon is a member of the Junior League of Lincoln (JLL) and is a Past President of JLL. She is also a Leadership Lincoln Fellow Class XII.
Adrian Sanchez
Adrian Sanchez joined McBride & Associates in 2020 and serves as the Membership Services & Communications Manager. In that capacity, he is responsible for identifying communications opportunities for clients, developing messaging and communications strategies, and generating communications to internal and external client audiences. He also works with clients to enhance and promote membership value and awareness of clients’ programs, services, and issues. Adrian joined M&A with a diverse background in non-profit organization communications and management, advocacy, and customer relations.
Emily Wilcox
Emily Wilcox joined McBride & Associates in April of 2016 and serves as the Associate Director for the Nebraska Optometric Association (NOA) and Associate Director for the Nebraska Association of Nurse Anesthetists (NANA). Emily coordinates the marketing efforts for NOA and Nebraska Foundation for Children's Vision. She has 15 years of association experience; working with the Nebraska REALTORS® Association as the Member Services Administrator for three years and the Nebraska Chapter of the American Institute of Architects as the Executive Assistant for the past eight. Emily graduated from Hastings College with her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Media Production with an emphasis in Advertising and Media Production, and in 2014 from Concordia University with her Master’s in Business Administration with a focus in Non-Profit Management. She is a member of NSAE and the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Group.
